Access to practical tools & resources to help Canadians better understand and conserve wetlands.

Environment Canada's objective is to help Canadians live and prosper in an environment that is properly protected and conserved. Environment Canada administers several Acts/policies of particular relevance to wetlands:

Environment Canada also provides expert advice to federal departments involved in environmental assessments under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act. Environment Canada's regional offices deal with environmental issues of regional, community, or site-specific significance and should be consulted for advice on projects involving wetlands or information on specific wetland sites.
