This guide provides examples of existing annual events, along with a variety of ideas for building new activities. The guide describes detailed steps relating to:
• raising awareness and community support;
• finding financial and in-kind support;
• engaging volunteers;
• considering logistics (budgets, planning, safety); and,
• promoting and publicizing an event.
A number of Case Studies are provided to demonstrate the successes and challenges of organizing a shoreline event.
