Toward a Canadian Agenda for Ecological Fiscal Reform: First Steps




This report explores potential strategies to redirect government taxation and expenditure programs to create incentives for supporting the shift to sustainable development. One section examines initiatives that would help farmers across Canada conserve rather than cultivate ecologically sensitive land such as wetlands and riparian areas. This section looks at environmental farm plans, municipal property tax credits for on-farm conservation areas, and the Ducks Unlimited Canada conservation cover program.
