Description

The International Panel on Climate Change Third Assessment Report: Contributions of the Working Groups represent the formally agreed statements of the IPCC on:

  • Working Group I: The Scientific Basis
  • Working Group II: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability
  • Working Group III: Mitigation
Working Group II identifies prairie wetlands among those natural systems that may undergo significant and irreversible damage due to climate change, and warns, ?effective adaptation is unlikely.? The report also highlights the loss of highly diverse and productive salt marshes along North American coasts, and other consequences of sea-level rise, as a ?key concerns? for the continent.
