Access to practical tools & resources to help Canadians better understand and conserve wetlands.

Description

The Wetlands Conservation Policy aims at managing human activity on or near wetlands to ensure that critical functions are not compromised. It will also strengthen the government's commitment to conserve wetlands and to promote and facilitate wetland stewardship, awareness and education. The policy applies to all provincially significant wetlands regardless of size, and to all other wetlands in New Brunswick that are greater than one hectare regardless of ownership. Regulations enacted by this policy would limit development that impacts wetland habitat directly or falls within 30 metres of a wetland greater than one hectare in size.
