Migratory Birds Convention Act

Description

This Act implements the Cananda-US Convention for the protection of migratory birds. Together with its regulations, the Act:

  • authorizes the establishment, control and management of Migratory Bird Sanctuaries for nationally significant habitat
  • prohibits activities in sanctuaries that may be harmful to birds, eggs, nests or habitat of migratory birds
  • prohibits the deposition of any substance harmful to migratory birds in any waters or any area frequented by migratory birds
