Description

Burns Bog is the largest raised peat bog on the west coast of North America. It is an excellent example of a self-sustaining ecosystem that contains an impressive diversity of wildlife and plants.

Burns Bog Conservation Society staff conduct tours through the bog, make presentations in local classrooms, and set up displays at local events. The Society maintains a research library in its office for local residents and produces educational literature on the bog, including The Teacher's Guide to Burns Bog. They also publish a quarterly newsletter for members.
